I have a wealth of experience producing impactful films focusing on climate change and the environment. I have made films for BBC Countryfile, Springwatch, Channel 4 News, the Ashden environmental and sustainability Awards, Climate & Development Knowledge Network, Ecosystem Services for Poverty Alleviation, environmental charity ‘We Are Possible/10:10’, the World Bank, UNIDO, WFP and the ICRC.
My expertise is in short form, primarily 5–15 minute films, taking complex stories and transforming them into engaging, impactful and emotive films that resonate with target audiences and inspire behaviour change.
My connection to nature and the environment began early in my life and it has continued to shape my values. I grew up in the Sussex countryside on a smallholding with cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and fond memories of my father making his own butter. At the bottom of our fields was a river where I spent plenty of time exploring. This early exposure to nature instilled in me an understanding that we rely on our environment and we must take care of it.
This was made all the more clear whilst living in the Horn of Africa where the state of land, water and the climate directly impacts peoples’ lives. The Ethiopian famine is a story that shocked the world, but my goal when I moved there was not to just report on the challenges, I wanted to focus on the positive stories like climate-friendly farming, renewable energy, biofarms and electric cars.
As a result of these experiences I decided to formalize my knowledge and embarked on six years of part-time study with the Open University and obtained a BSc in Environmental Studies. It is without a doubt one of my greatest personal achievements!
Nature cannot speak for itself and that’s why I continue to tell stories about people doing amazing work. If you need helping telling your story, I would love to help.
